More Sponers

And they keep coming...

I would like to start this entry with a BIG THANK YOU to Louis our team member extraordinare. He is THE driving force behind all of the new sponsors and it seems like we're never letting up which is AWESOME!.

Two new sponsors have showed interest with our Adventure.

Sylvania Lighting http://www.Sylvania.com/ promised to contribute in their new budgetary year 2007. Thank you Sylvania!

Whitewater Research  and Safety Institute http://www.whitewaterhelmet.com/ has promised to contribute their awesome helmets for the trip. Louis has been able to start, it seems, not only a sponsorship but a friendship as well with a person who shares our ideas about reaching out to the community and contributing to a cause greater then our selves.

Only thing Louis forgot to ask for is some extra helmets for the Documentary people, so that when we get tired of them just sitting back and enjoying the engined powered boat of theirs while we have to kayak we might decide to throw some stuff at them! :-)

We also have some exciting prospects lined up so keep checking back! :-)

News updates
We've had several exciting things happen in the past week or so.

First of all we've been able to meet twice and start discussing and planing the organization and the event itself. The meetings have been a great exchange of ideas and thoughts where everyone participated with unbelievable enthusiasm.

We've brought a couple of new members on board!
Please welcome Christian which will coordinate media publications/events.
Mariah will help us by being a Spokesperson for the adventure and she will also help coordinate the fund raising aspect.
Ali has been in touch with our local School district and has helped secure us a spot on the Elementary School curriculum for next year. We'll be able to create a Syllabus that the school children can follow our progress and at the same time learn all the aspects of the trip from the geography of the Mississippi and the surrounding states, to the history, and outdoor activities. Yea Ali!

Christmas in April happened last week. Louis and I received our first items from the equipment list that we put together. Teva sent sandals and sports shoes and let me tell you, they look sharp! My only concern now is that I'll wear them out (because you know I'll want to wear them daily!) before we get to go into the water! :-)

We're also progressing on the filing of the Non Profit paperwork that will allow us to be a Non Profit Corporation (501 c3).

We've secured an official PO Box so please send something since I have to check it and I get sad when it's empty (SPAM doesn't count!) :-)

Last but not least the most exciting news is that we've joined forces with Children's Cancer Research Center http://www.childrenscancer.com/home.html ! We're having our second conference call today to discuss details. This will be a mutually important partnership where our adventure and their network of volunteers can bring some much needed money to researching cancer and helping children get better. I'm honored that they thought well enough of us to let us partner with them.

New Sponsers!
We've already gotten some great sponsors!

The first sponsor was Ali. Yea Ali! Now we can cook some viddle on those short nights we'll actually be on land.

The second sponsor was Teva http://www.teva.com/ which will supply us with some shoes. (I wonder if they will get stinky after 10 hour days... :-) Thanks for joining our cause Adam!

The third sponsor was a local distributor of an excellent line of skin care products. http://www.eris-usa.net They will provide us with sunscreen products and maybe even moisturizers (if I ask politely ...:-) Thank you Jerry for even associating with us crazy guys! :-)
